Cashcity Microloan Company is a mission-driven financial service designed to provide payday loans, employer guarantee loans, small and accessible loans to entrepreneurs, small business owners and underserved individuals who lack access to traditional banking. This includes microbusiness owners, startup founders, sole proprietors and underbanked consumers. Our loans are structured to be flexible, with repayment terms tailored to the borrower’s cash flow, and often at lower rates than other lenders.

We aim to empower communities by bridging the financing gap for those who need capital to start or grow a business, improve livelihoods, or meet essential needs. Our focus is on financial inclusion, helping individuals turn ideas into reality while supporting Malawi’s economic growth.

POSITION: LOANS OFFICER

Reporting to the Head of Credit, the successful candidate will be responsible, amongst others, for:
Meeting with applicants to gather information and discussing financing needs.
Explaining loan products, terms, and credit options.
Obtaining, verifying, and analyzing financial information such as credit reports, income and assets.
Assessing creditworthiness and determining feasibility of granting loans.
Structuring loan proposals aligned with underwriting guidelines.
Reviewing loan agreements for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Approving loans within authorized limits or refer to management.
Coordinating collateral appraisals and property valuations.
Submitting complete applications to underwriting and communicating decisions to applicants.
Maintaining and updating loan files and documentation.
Monitoring loan performance post-disbursement and support compliance activities.
Building referral networks and analyzing potential loan markets.
Handling customer inquiries and complaints.
Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

The successful candidate should have the following specifications, experience and skill set:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, business, or related field preferred.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit management. Or a Diploma in Banking or related field with 5 years’ experience in credit management. Must be tech savvy and able to prepare work programs and weekly progress reports. Strong credit analysis, communication, and customer service skills. A keen eye for detail is essential to ensure precision in paperwork.
