OVERVIEW
The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitable qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions existing at ZOMBA CITY COUNCIL.

POST: Civil Engineer – Building and Roads
GRADE: M6/1
SALARY: Within the range of Grade I/M Salary Segment

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be in possession of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering obtained from an accredited and recognized university or institution of higher learning plus two (2) years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in the design, construction, supervision and maintenance of roads, buildings and other public infrastructure.
Must be registered with the Malawi Engineering Institution (MEl) at the appropriate professional level.

DUTIES

Supervise road/drain construction and maintenance works.
Compile periodic progress reports on works undertaking.
Prepare on – job training for junior staff.
Prepares BOQs for roads and construction projects.
Plan construction and maintenance works.
Facilitate requisition of materials for different projects.
